Seahorses occupy the coastal silted parts of the shore in sea grass and water less than 20m deep. Our Australian Seahorses have been adversely effected by pollution, collection, damage to sea beds and loss of habitat.
A large and beautiful female seahorse, once alive at the Seahorse Research Centre, near where I grew up in Tasmania. The centre has an ocean conservation project ongoing.
Cast and fabricated in solid Sterling Silver, with black patina.
Length of seahorse with bale is 5.5cm.
