This collection speaks to my deep connection with domestic and wild animals.
I grew up in a small town in Tasmania, of creeks and open grassy spaces, with bushes and trees; sunny days and crisp mornings. My wanderings enabled a lifetime of observing and interacting with animals. My home was an endless procession of both wild and domesticated creatures, facilitated by my father. I learnt to listen, watch and handle many animals. I had a curious, fearless relationship with spiders from the age of 3 and am now often lost in the world of tiny creatures. My encounters have had an immeasurable and profound influence on who I am today.
Making this collection has allowed me to re-visit my memories, deriving yet more joy from my experiences.
